Time is running out!
Posted on December 23, 2009
Time is running before we join our family for Christmas so I am finishing up my last minute baking, shopping, wrapping, and doing the best to entertain my 2 kids who are full of energy and very eager to get their Christmas going. I am happy to announce that I am nearly done! Sometimes, I think that the holiday commercials can run on the corny end and when I saw this someone, I laughed so hard and screamed to the television, ‘hurry, Santa, hurry!’ I love this commercial!! I can relate and it made me smile.
I also want to wish all of you a merry Christmas and happy new year!! I have been so blessed to have worked with some really beautiful and amazing people this year!! I have had some incredible expericences and have you all to thank. It has been a blessing.
We are beginning our much needed family vacation and will return in mid January 2010. Can’t wait to catch up with you all.

The Family Circus!
Posted on November 28, 2009

No thanksgiving holiday or I guess anything holiday is complete with the family chaos that I secretly love. My mom, dad, and niece came up to Austin for a thanksgiving feast, shopping and spending time together. I love my family and understand more and more each year as to why family is so important and learned very early this morning how much they love me.
Some of you may know that when I am not making pictures, I love visiting fabric shops and sewing. I mill around the house and pick up a DIY upholstery using my crafty skills and staple gun. There are times where I need to sew something and need a sewing machine. So, I think Jake got tired of me putting fabric together with Krazy glue (fabric glue doesn’t do the job for me). Jake and my mom found a sewing machine on sale and thought of me. I found out this morning that Jake snuck out of the house and drove to the store and fought through the crowds of people to purchase a sewing machine for me. Sadly, when Jake arrived to the store, the sewing machines were long gone. He came home and went back to bed.
My mother also snuck out and headed out to the same store and even called several stores to find the sewing machine and had the same luck. My mother came home and forgot the keys to our house and rang the doorbell, knocked loudly on the door, and even called me. Molly finally heard my mother and answered the door. I asked her how long she was outside and she modestly answer, ‘just a few minutes’. As we were running out the door, I grabbed my phone and started reviewing my missed calls and messages. I noticed that she did call me and try getting in touch with me for about an hour! My heart sunk!! I felt horrible that my poor mother patiently waited for someone to answer the door!! I love her and made it up to her as best as I could. I did end up getting a sewing machine at a bargain price and can’t wait to crank out some projects!!!
I had a great thanksgiving because of my family!!! No post is ever complete without some pictures. Here are some pictures that I took one of my favorite places. My mom and dad came along. Since my favorite place isn’t the most secure location, I held off on telling them until we got there. Mom and dad were such good sports and were amazing helpers. Mom cleaned the kiddos up as soon as I was done with them….you know how moms can be
Happy holidays!!!

Where did the time go?
Posted on September 8, 2009

Jake and I brought Jacob Dylan home to us 10 years ago. To our disbelief, he didn’t even come home with a set of instructions. Talk about a huge learning curve and new adjustment for us! We couldn’t just get up and go anymore. We would have to prepare bottles, pack a bag with diapers, wipes, changes of clothes, and plan around day time naps just to run to the store or see family or friends. Our world was turned upside down. It was hard!

The sleepless nights were beginning to wear Jake and I down fast. Since Jacob wasn’t a sleeper and needed looking after, we agreed to take shifts to care for Jacob in the evenings. This would be good since we would get some rest and after all, some rest was better than no rest at all.
I felt like I was sleeping with one eye open and ears to the ground….I was a new mother after all. One night would go down into books of parenthood and stay with us forever. Jake was rocking Jacob to sleep and I checked on them to make sure all was well before I headed to bed. Jake said everything was great wished me a happy sleep. I felt like I was finally able to hit a state of deep rest and dreams when one dream of a cruel witch taking my newborn baby would scare the crap out of me and have me shoot up from bed and turn over to Jake and ask ‘Jake, where is the baby’. Jake’s new father weariness had caught up with him and he looked up at me and said, ‘I don’t know!!’ Dreaded words that I wasn’t prepared to hear!! ‘What do you mean you don’t know?!? We both instinctively jumped out of bed and pulled all of the blankets, sheets, anything attached to the bed. Jake ran to the bassinet where Jacob would have been sleeping….no baby!!! We always put the baby in the bassinet to sleep!!! We are were past freaking out!! Jake ran over the crib to find a sleeping baby in his crib. Still to this day, I am not sure why Jake placed Jacob in the crib and not in the bassinet. I was just relieved to find Jacob well and safe! Best of all, he was sleeping!!

Jacob loves art and talking about his art! We love playing Zelda and he has also been so kind enough to share some tricks with his mother
He is so determined and stubborn. Even when the kids in kindergarten challanged him to take flight off a playground platform. As they chanted ‘birdie’, Jacob took flight and landed (fell) on ground and banged up his arm pretty badly.(Never again!) It didn’t phase him one bit. He’s that kind of kid!! He is amazing!!!

Somewhere between the sleepless nights, tricking the kid to potty train, and pursading him to eat vegetables, he grew to be taller, smarter, and sweeter…..he’s still not eating the vegetables!! He has an old soul too. He would rather listen to the Beatles and the Police than do activities kids his age are doing. Today, Jacob celebrated his 10th birthday eating, playing, and hanging out with us!! He blew out his candles and forgot to make a wish….that’s my boy!! Parents are usually the one to teach children many, many things but Jacob has taught to be more patient and enjoy life!! Jake and I couldn’t have asked for a better kid!!
