My Fiance, at the time, now Husband, and I were in the process of looking for an affordable, professional photographer for our wedding. Not really knowing the art of “photo quality”, decided to hand the picking of our Photographer to my sister. (who herself makes her living as a professional photographer, and has for the last 15 years, being tremendously successful) My sister did her research for about a week and came back to me with a couple of suggestions. I viewed each of their portfolios, and ended up choosing Tanya Saenz, which was my sisters favorite too. I am so glad I did! Tanya & David were the hardest working people at the wedding, capturing the moments that we will now always be able to look back upon. When it came time to our special day, we knew we were looking for
something unique, classy…but still “us.”
We wanted to find an alternative to all the regular “traditional” way
of doing things but still show some respect to our families. We did
want to make our parents happy, but in our way.
When looking for a photographer we had to look around to find someone
whose style meshed with ours. When we saw all the great pics on
Tanya’s website, we knew we had to set up a meeting. Within 5 minutes
we knew we had found what we were looking for. Quirky, eccentric,
funky, cool but with a calm self confidence that put us at ease. She
got to know us and she listened to what we were looking for. She
assured us that she could definitely pull off the vibe we were looking
for.
We met a few weeks later to shoot our “engagement pics” and they were
amazing. We had a blast! Acting silly, making jokes, posing in a
serious yet loving way. We really felt like she let us shine and let
our energy and attitude come through. At the wedding she took all the
“traditional” poses that we wanted our families to partake in and
then… She let us, be us. We like to have fun and we feel that vibe
pours through the pics. On top of that…we got the photo booth! A
simple white curtain as a backdrop, throw some props in the mix and
let everyone go crazy! People got to cut loose and have some fun and
that is how we wanted our wedding to be remembered.
